Why didn’t I try clean eating years ago? I feel so good – energetic, alert and my skin looks really clear. If you’re 50/50 about cutting out processed carbs DO IT NOW!
Todays’ workout was the FURNACE WORKOUT from Phase 1 of the fat burn revolution. Warm up then 30 seconds all out followed by 2 mins easy x 4 followed by cool down, doing whichever activity I chose. It looked like a perfect HIIT running session to me so I did it on the treadmill, but I made it a slightly longer workout by doing it 8 times rather than 4. It was a very effective workout, by the end of the 20 mins I had sweat pouring off me, had run 1.75m and burnt off 300 cals. Marvellous!
Tonights clean eating meal is Chicken and Veg Stirfry with cauliflower ‘rice’ (thanks to Kim for the inspiration). Very satisfying and this recipe makes 4 decent portions.
Chicken and Vegetable stirfry with cauliflower rice
Serves 4. Per serving: 310 cals, 11.2g fat, 13.9g carbs, 40.2g protein
Ingredients:
2 large skinless chicken breasts (450g)
Head of cauliflower
Head of broccoli
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
1 carrot
1 onion
Chilli to taste – fresh or crushed/dried depending on preference
Mange tout, beansprouts, pak choi or any other veg you fancy (my work colleague has brussels – yeuch!)
2 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 inch ginger, grated
2 tsp harissa paste
10ml sesame oil
Method:
Grate the cauliflower and chop all veg and chicken into thin slices
In a wok lightly fry the cauliflower in half the oil and garlic for 5 minutes until it softens a bit then put to one side
Add the rest of the oil and the chicken to the wok then add the garlic, ginger, chilli and harissa paste
Fry until the chicken is cooked then add the rest of the veg and stirfry until cooked
Once the veg is cooked add the cauliflower back in and mix thoroughly
Serve and scoff!
What is clean eating? Sounds great – top start to 2014! Well done 😀
It’s just basically no processed foods particularly carbs – pretty much a low carb diet but with more veg and fruit.
Hey you are on fire, go Flo
Yes Boss! I’ll eat clean. I need too! Ed and I are going to try that recipe.
Great work out!
Carla. I really think this is going to work for you. You can still eat lots and really fill up on protein and even fat if it’s part of a natural thing like nuts or even the crispy skin on roast chicken. Just avoid the processed white carbs, and potatoes. I managed to lose nearly a stone doing this and Julia Buckley’s programme http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fat-Burn-Revolution-Boost-metabolism-ebook/dp/B00H4SOYRG/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1389131558&sr=1-1&keywords=The+fat+burn+revolution.
And I couldn’t run either due to injury. I know you’re really going to tone up doing this!!
Thanks Kim – I’m enjoying it so far and feel so good it’s giving me the extra motivation to keep eating healthily. Thanks sooo much again to you and Sue for the recommendation x
Great Janathoning, think your dinner looks scrummy 🙂
you are indeed on fire! I really need to download that book – in fact I am going to do it right now!
